Adult Education classes featuring a wide variety of guest speakers and topics are held each weekend, January – May and the end of September – mid-December, coinciding with the school year, at 9:15 – 10:30 am in the Youth Building.

 

English as a Second or Other Language

English classes are given for everyone who wants to learn English or if they know some English and want to improve it. It is open to all, be a member or not of the parish. The classes are free. The schedule is on Sundays from 09:15 – 10:30 in the morning, when there are Faith Formation classes. The schedule of other days depends on the students. We do our best to work with your schedule. You can register at the church office.  Help to study for the American citizenship test. Help with the GED also. General Educational Development, referring to a system of standardized examinations which entitle those who pass them to receive a credential considered as equivalent to completion of high school.

Guidelines or requirements for Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation:

BAPTISM: Parents and Godparents are required to attend a Baptism class, held every last Thursday of the month at 6:30 PM in the Youth Building, before the child is baptized. Parents are required to be registered members of this parish. All others are required to have written authorization from their parish, allowing to have the child baptized at this parish. Once child is baptized, child  will be registered as a member of this parish, if parents are registered members.


FIRST COMMUNION: Registration in the Parish is a requirement, and all parents are asked to provide copies of their children’s Certificate of Baptism prior to their receiving any Sacrament. Child must be at least in the second grade or higher. If children are not baptized, they must be baptized, prior to receiving First Communion. Arrangements can be made to have the child baptized in the church. Fees vary depending on number of children in family. 


CONFIRMATION: Registration in the parish is as a requirement, and all parents are asked to provide copies of their children’s Certificate of First Communion prior to their receiving any Sacrament. If children are not baptized or have completed their First Communion. Arrangements can be made to have the child complete First Communion, if they have not yet received it. Child must be in the 8th Grade in school. It is mandatory that a parent/godparent attend classes with the student. If there are three instances that there is neither parent/godparent in class, the student will be dropped from class. It is only required to have one parent/godparent during class.

Fees vary depending on number of children in family.  No one is ever turned away for an inability to  pay.
