The Adult Choir is open to all members of the parish from age 15 and older. The ability to read music is desired, but not required All that is required is a love of singing. This choir usually sings for the 11:00 am Sunday Mass, but will occasionally sing at the other Masses. This choir also sings for a Christmas Eve Mass, Holy Week Masses, Taize Prayer, and other liturgical celebrations. Liturgical and music workshops are made available several times a year. Members may also participate in diocesan liturgies, funerals, Rite of Election, the Chrism Mass, and ordination of Priests.
The Children’s Choir is open to all children in the 1st through 5th grades. This choir sings for 2-3 Sunday Masses during the year. The Children’s Choir also sings for the Parish Christmas Program. It is during this program that each child is given the opportunity to “shine” in solos, duets, or trios. Weekly rehearsals begin in late September and continue through April. Training, preparation, and education are covered during the rehearsals.
The Youth Choir is open to all youth in the 6th through 12th grades. This choir sings for several Sunday Masses during the year, including the World Youth Day Mass in October, the Parish Christmas Program, a Christmas Eve Mass, and Holy Week Masses. Rehearsals are on a “when needed” basis.
